The Pacific Offshore Academy #1

Today I attended the first Pacific Offshore Academy. This is a half day seminar with relevant information for the race. The main focus was hull integrity, insurance, etc

The seminar was held at the Richmond Yacht Club. I had to wake up early, take my car to John Wayne Airport, fly to Oakland, take the BART to Richmond and finally a cab to the Yacht Club.

I also got to meet Rowena Carlson and her husband Robb. She is a very nice lady. Both of them gave me a lot of advice and gave me a ride back to the Oakland Airport

Wrong lifelines

Today I received the lifelines I had ordered a few weeks ago.The problem is that I go exactly the opposite of what I ordered. I wanted turnbuckles at the end:

Look at the turnbuckle on the left

Look at the turnbuckle on the left

and I got gate eyes:

Wrong (gate eye)

I contacted the vendor and is looking at the situation. I acknowledged that I did not get what I ordered. That’s a good start!
